Education
As well as the education activities conducted through the children at risk programme in the capital, Addis Ababa, GOAL Ethiopia engages in education activities as part of its rural development programmes in Borena, West Haraghae and Sidama.
The activities that GOAL facilitates include the provision of adult functional literacy through non-formal education centres for children and adults, and ensuring quality primary and adult literacy by improving education services to rural pastoral and agro pastoral communities (including shelter improvement, upgrading, school furnishing and additional block construction).
GOAL Ethiopia also provides female literacy through its REFLECT programme and strongly promotes the participation of girls and women in formal and non-formal education programmes.
