$130,000 profit raised at New York Ball

The 2011 GOAL New York Ball was held at the
stunning Gotham Hall
The great and the good of New York society raised their glasses for GOAL at their annual New York Ball in Gotham Hall on Friday, November 11th, raising well over $130,000 profit for the aid organisation’s programmes in the developing world.

More than 300 guests packed into the stunning venue, enjoying a gourmet dinner, a live and silent auction, a casino, musical entertainment and dancing into the small hours.

The live auction saw guests bidding on items ranging from an exclusive Marc Jacobs handbag to luxury vacations in some of Ireland’s most exclusive hotels, while there was a very positive reaction to GOAL’s two school building projects in Haiti and Honduras.

Such was the generosity of the guests on the night that enough money was raised to allow GOAL to build three new schools in some of the poorest and most vulnerable Haitian and Honduran communities, thus providing access to education for hundreds of children, and empowering the communities in which they live.

“On behalf of GOAL, I would also like to thank all our friends and supporters, the guests who gave so generously, the committee members, our sponsors and the volunteers, caterers who made it an unforgettable evening,” said GOAL USA’s James Kelly.

“Without their help and assistance, the evening would not have been as enjoyable and successful as it was.”

GOAL spends millions every year implementing relief and development programs across the developing world, ensuring that those affected by humanitarian crises and poverty have access to the fundamental needs and rights of life, such as, food, water, shelter, medical attention and literacy.

GOAL is proud to have maintained an exceptionally low administration cost over the past 34 years, meaning that the maximum amount of money will get to those most in need.

Long term friends of GOAL and new supporters made the evening possible.
