GOAL and London Irish

More than 20,000 people turned out for London Irish’s traditional St. Patrick’s party recently and helped to support GOAL in the process.

GOAL is one of the club's chosen charities for the current season and was heavily involved in this popular annual event.
With more than £4,500 raised on the day for GOAL, a win for London Irish and a fantastic party atmosphere, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day out for all concerned.
Club hero and GOAL Patron Bob Casey led the team out in GOAL tee-shirts, while hundreds of people bought GOAL’s St. Patrick’s Day badges, making the Madejski Stadium a sea of green.
Entertainment on the day included music, bands, fancy dress, karaoke, balloon modelling, face painting, plenty of children’s entertainment and, of course, some cracking rugby.
GOAL also held a raffle with John Gillingham winning a London Irish signed jersey and getting the opportunity to meet Bob, who has become a club legend since he first turned out for The Exiles eight years ago.
The giant lock from Maynooth, Co. Kildare, will be visiting GOAL’s project in Kolkata (Calcutta) later this year and he has also revealed that all receipts from his testimonial next year will be donated to GOAL.
A huge thank-you to the fantastic volunteers, and to all those who donated money on the day.

See the London Irish website for more details on their partnership with GOAL.
Meanwhile, by helping GOAL UK bucket collections at some of London Irish’s home fixtures this season, you will get the chance to watch the game for free!
