ST PATRICK'S DAY BADGE
CAMPAIGN for GOAL/Aidlink
The pupils of Blackrock college have just finished their 20th consecutive year selling St Patrick’s Day shamrock badges in aid of GOAL and Aidlink. In that time the pupils have raised over €2 million for the poorest of the poor and this year's campaign was another amazing success.
Praising the students for their continued efforts, GOAL Chief Executive, John O’ Shea said:
‘The sale of St Patrick’s Day badges allows people to show their pride in being Irish whilst supporting the idea of a developing world – I firmly believe that a caring attitude and social conscience developed early will remain with a person throughout their life'.
