Organiser Noel Mahon has been extremely busy making sure that the New Year's Day County Leitrim GOAL fundraiser in Bornacoola GAA grounds, starting at 2pm, is the biggest and best ever. Among the celebrities already volunteered to attend are stars like Charlie McGettigan, Mick Flavin, Declan Nerney (with a distinct possibility of more), Chairperson Geraldine Creamer representing the Leitrim Ladies GAA team, some members of that team, and members of Longford Pipe Band.

Noel has a host of items for auction. So far, the list includes, A Cruise on the River Shannon donated by Carrick Craft. A Munster autographed Heineken Cup Winners Jersey.

Autographed jerseys from the County football teams of Kerry, Dublin and Meath, and a Cork hurling team jersey. An autographed ball from Sunderland Club.

An Arsenal team photo – autographed by players of 2007-08 season. An autographed jersey from Sheffield United which also carries the autograph of the manager Brian Robson.

A Paul McGrath autographed Ireland Soccer jersey. A football autographed by the Leitrim Ladies. A painting from Foxford artist Harry Feeney, ofTG4fame. A three month's membership of Aura Leisure Centre in Carrick. A voucher from Ard Nahoo Health Farm, Dromahair. A voucher for two people for a meal in luxurious surroundings, in world famous chef Nevin Maguire's MacNean Bistro in Blacklion.

Overnight accommodation in Castle Leslie, Monaghan. Two nights accommodation in Markree Castle, Collooney, Co Sligo. Overnight accommodation in Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney. Two nights Bed & Breakdfast in Wineport Lodge, Glasson, Athlone. Overnight accommodation in The Abbey Hotel, Dromahair.
