OVERALL DESCRIPTION
General Description of the
Programme:
GOAL has been working in Sudan since 1984. GOAL currently
has 6 programme sites throughout Sudan. Twic County in Warrap
State, Kurmuk County in Southern Blue Nile and Sobat in Upper
Nile State are managed through the GOAL office in Juba. The
GOAL office in Khartoum manages programmes in Abyei, North
Darfur and Kassala State. The current GOAL programmes focuses
on four main sectors: primary health care, women’s education
(REFLECT), water, sanitation and hygiene promotion (WASH),
and sustainable livelihoods.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Donor Proposals and Reports
Coordinate the development of quality donor proposals, ensuring
good collaboration with the programme coordinators, finance
and other relevant departments;
Coordinate the development and timely submission of donor
reports, programme reports to Dublin and other reports or
updates as needed.
Information Management
Maintain and update proposal and reporting calendar ensuring
all concerned are aware of the reporting schedule and their
specific roles;
Develop, maintain and update the programme information database
(indicators, programme staff movements, workplans, internal
reports, PMPs, project overviews, photos etc);
Support programme coordinators and staff in the documentation
of learning;
Assist in the development/update of programme overviews/presentations.
Donor compliance
Work with the Finance team to schedule and facilitate grant
management meetings and follow-up on action points from the
meetings;
Programme Support
- Provide day to day support to the programme, liaise with
field sites on programme issues ,ensuring good lines of communication
and follow-up as needed with logistics, finance and human
resources;
- In collaboration with the Head of Programmes (HoP) ensure
the mainstreaming of HIV/AIDS and gender in all programme
activities;
- Support the HoP ensure full implementation programme and
budget management tools;
- Support the HoP in strategy and programme development;
- Support the HoP in planning and implementing staff training
and capacity building;
- Support the HoP and M&E Coordinator in the implementing
M&E systems.
Representation and Networking
As agreed with the HoP, represent GOAL at coordination meetings
and network with other agencies, UN and government as and
when needed.
Other related tasks as requested by Head of Programmes or
CD.
Requirements:
· Relevant university
degree;
· Strong analytical skills
and experience of proposal writing, logframe development and
donor reporting (ECHO, OFDA etc);
· Excellent IT skills
including data base management, excel and data analysis;
· Excellent communications
and interpersonal skills;
· At least 2 years experience
working with NGOs, preferably in relief and development programmes;
· Experience with HIV/AIDS
and gender programming preferred;
· Experience/knowledge
of Sudan beneficial.
